I am looking for an attorney who does real estate in Bogota. Specifically, I want assistance in purchasing property. Any recommendations. No need for English speaking attorney.

Clear title?

An Expat interested in purchasing a home

or other real property in South America

should establish early on .. how long the

current owner(s) have had the property

in their name(s).

A woman living in the Pacific Northwest of

the USA posted on our site that she had

made a down-payment of 5,000 USD on a

property in a Pacific Coast town in

South America. However, neither she nor

any attorney had initially realized that the

property was recently and jointly inherited

by multiple siblings of the deceased former

owner .. and the sibs had three years to

establish their property rights.

This killed the deal and wasted the

prospective buyer's time.
