Moving to geneva - schools

NatusPatus

Good morning! We might be moving to Geneva in September and was wondering how the public schools are there. We live in the italian speaking side of Switzerland, our girls are 9 and 7 and speak fluent Italian and English. Our main worry is putting them in the public school were it’s 100% french. Do they risk being put back a year? Anyone with a positive experience? Thank you in advance!

Hello NatusPatus,

Welcome to Expat.com 1f601.svg

Thank you for asking your questions here.

Let's hope someone with kids will be able to share their personal experiences with public schools in Geneva.

Do you already have an idea of which school you would like to send your daughters to?

Cheers,

Cheryl

@Cheryl  hi Cheryl, no unfortunately everything is very recent and my husband is waiting on the final offer from work, but I thought i would start doing research as of now! 😉 I have heard that Eaux Vives is a nice area to live in so perhaps the local school there would be an option?
