MVV application 'inbehandeling' confusion

Good day members

My husband has applied for the MVV for me and my son. He is dutch. Our application was received on the 1st of November and acknowledged via the myind portal on the 23rd of November.

Because we check constantly, we noticed that on the 5th of December, the status of the application shifted to 'aanvrag is inbehandeling. We were happy and thought that this means the application was being attended to and that the decision/approval was close.

Surprisingly, we checked as usual, early January, only to find out that the 'inbehandeling ' status that seemed to calm our anxiety was now missing...instead was 'u hoeft nu niets te doen'.

We are confused. Does this mean, they stopped processing our mvv? Does this mean longer wait time!? The inbehandeling was our succour that something was at least going on.

Hearing experiences of people having to wait for up to 90 days only for their wait time to be extended adds to our frustration and is befuddling!

Can someone please  help throw light on this...and i will be particularly happy if someone from the IND responds please.

Thank you

It means your application is still in progress and it says literally you don't need to do anything at this moment.

I know it can be frustrated to wait that long but your application is just one month on their desk and they have still maximum two months left before the make the decision.

Patience, patience and patience 😊

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I don't work for the IND.  The 2 Dutch phrases you are quoting wouldn't worry me, it's what I would expect as an application winds its way through the system "aanvrag is inbehandeling" - your request is pending, then "'u hoeft nu niets te doen" - you have nothing further to do at this time.  If I was reading that I'd think that they have my application, and were working on it, then, they don't need anything else from you.

If you are still concerned, you can contact the IND and ask them; they have a contact section on their website; this link will take you straight to it; it has phone numbers and e-mail addresses you can use.  Alternatively, assuming your husband sponsored your application, he can check by logging into his DigiD account; this link explains what information is available.

I hope this helps.

Still waiting! It is really frustrating! Deadline on January 30...was hoping we would get approved sooner.. it's not helping seeing people who applied after us getting approved. We had the aanvrag is in behandeling status that suddenly dissappeared...So I am wondering what really the  problem is! I had perfect scores with the inburgering...(all 10). (May be I shdnt have put in so much efforts into writing  the exams 😆) My husband's income meets the requirement also. It's not easy...just waiting and everything is on hold!
