F Card - Can EU partner temporarily leave Belgium for work?

Hello and happy NY to all :)

I would like to know if anyone has experience/info with a similar situation:

I'm an EU citizen (living in Belgium on an E card permit) and my partner is a non-EU citizen (who joined me in Belgium through a family reunification procedure, and residing on an F card permit since March 2021, valid for 5 years).

I now have a very interesting job opportunity in another EU country (short-duration, likely 6 to 12 months) and would like to know if it's possible for the EU citizen to temporarily move abroad without negatively affecting the non-EU citizen's residence in Belgium? If so, under what conditions (eg - max duration of stay abroad, etc)?

TYA for any insights!

Hello,

your partner can settle elsewhere IF you go live abroad together.

The conditions are case by case depending on the country you're targeting, but basically the partner receives the free right of movement as an official partner of you.
