Working in Cancun as an Australian

antoinettearcella90

Hello,

I am an Australian looking to relocate to Cancun and work for roughly 6 months. I have skills as a bartender, bottle service girl, qualified accountant, executive assistant and other administration skills. As my stay will be short I will be looking for work as either a bartender or a hotel entertainer. I am very confused about the visa situation. I understand I will need a temporary resident visa to obtain work, however, how am I meant to get a formal job offer before I enter the country? Has anyone had any luck in doing so? Did you enter on a tourist visa, put the feelers out there in person and then leave the country and apply for a temp resident visa? I obviously want to do things the legal way but everything online is so contradictory.

You will need to have a job before you come to Mexico. 6 months is not enough time.

It's not easy.
