Health Insurance

Hi, everyone. I hope all of you are doing well.

I have a contract with a school as a teacher and with this contract I was eligible to get my work visa last year. I have to pay 314 PEN/month to an account number as an insurance fee but until now I have not got any insurance card. Is that normal? I usually have a card that I can use to swipe in the hospital to claim insurance.

Is it true that every insurance only available in our home address in Perú as in the DNI/CE? I could never use my insurance benefit in Lima because it was issued in Arequipa.

Thank you.

I do health insurance in the US and travel insurance for people who work outside the country, but not with insurance sold in Peru. :-( Hopefully someone else can chime in on this one.
