Hello all,

Tranquilidade - seguro de saúde has 3 options

base hospitalizao( internamentos, cirurgia etc) cobertura of €15000

mais hospitalizao(internamentos cirurgia etc)cobertura of €75000

Top hospitalizao(internamentos cirurgia etc) cobertura of €500000.

For purposes of SEF resident card, does it matter which one you take? I am leaning towards base one for now to give it a try and later upgrade should I need to. I have my appointment next month and was wondering if this will satisfy the requirements (€15000 coverage) of having private health insurance or is there a minimum amount we should be covered for such as €50000 etc.

Thank you.

Here is a comparison of these 3 insurances. For the resident card, it does not matter which modality you choose. It all depends on the coverage you want and the amount of money you may have to pay at the private hospitals and clinics, if you use them, while you are resident in Portugal.
