Hello

Myself and my partner have been studying Japanese, and would like to return again to Kyoto later this year.

We are interested in finding someone interested to swap their appartment (with bikes?) against one of our appartments - either in the center of Venice, Italy, or in the middle of Paris, France.  Both are appartments that suit a quiet individual or couple, and 50-100 m2 in size, beautifully furnished and clean.  We are also extremely respectful people, both of where we stay and of the neighbours.  We are both retired.

Does anyone know someone who might be interested?

Does anyone know anywhere easy to access on the internet where I can place this kind of ad. in Kyoto?  For example, are their message boards at the universities for teachers who want to spend a couple of months in Europe?

Hello Jonathan,

Till members shed the light on your queries, I would suggest that you post an advert in the Housing in Kyoto section of the website. We will share it in our newsletter.

All the best

Hi Jonathon,

I have a small 2 bedroom house in Kyoto that could suit you.

What dates do you have in mind and for how long?

Hello

Well, I guess that the ideal would be around 6 weeks, starting in october and ending in December. Let's say 4-8 weeks according to what we find. From our side, Paris wont be free until early November, but Venice is free all the time. We'd like to return to Europe for Christmas.

We were in Kyoto for 2 months at the end of last year and had a small house (2 beds) near Daitoku-ji. It was ideal...a quiet neighbourhood, and from there I could cycle every day to where I was studying Japanese. Evidently we'd have to look a bit at dates, and Im a bit allergic to noise, but it could be very interesting for us if you are interested in a swap. We can look at it anyway.

For information, myself and my partner have 61 and 73 years. So we are not likely to have wild parties to upset inquisitive Japanese neighbours, will put the rubbish out on the right days...and we'll also look after the tatami and know how the shower works (and clean it properly!)

I think its probably easiest that you look at what we have to offer by looking at the following two links:

homeexchange.com/homes/edit/2205413

(If you cant get into them, please tell me and I'll find another way to send this to you).

What do you think about all of this?

Is it a discussion worth persuing?

Best wishes and thanks for your reply

Jonathan
