Hi all.

Are there any English speaking lawyers in Caldas da Rainha who deal with residency permits

And baggage certificate applications.

Any leads/ info will be much appreciated.

Best wishes.

Don

Hi Don,

As an EU citizen, you do not need a residence permit, only a registration certificate.

Registration Certificate for Citizens of the EU/EEA/Switzerland

(Post #7)

The Registration Certificate is the document that formalizes the right of residence in Portugal and must be applied for by any EU/EEA/Switzerland citizen that remains in Portugal for a period exceeding three months. If the period of stay is inferior to three months it only mandatory to hold a valid Identity Card or Passport.

Hi Don

Nice to know someone else is in our situation! Myself and Hubble are moving to the Caldas area around June as we  have just bought a house in Landal. As an EU National I will need to obtain the Registration Certificate from the local council, is that Caldas Town Hall? If you have made any progress can you share how you get on?

Myself and my husband will be in Caldas from 24 April for a few days if meeting up would be helpful.

thanks

@roz66,

You have the answer in post above #2. It's quite clear... Only after 3 months of stay in Portugal, you should request that certificate from your local council, which is Caldas da Rainha. Landal is a local parish ( = freguesia) of Caldas da Rainha:
