Hello,

I recently received PR (Kaart L). Since my wife's residence permit (Type A) have the same validity as the validity of my temporary Kaart A that I had and has been replaced, Could someone tell me if I could ask city hall to extend the validity of her A type card or request another type of card for my wife? Mind that my wife is currently dependent on me and not working.

Please share your experience in this matter.

Regards

@ARMaliq Hello. As per law, she needs to have 5 years of residence in Belgium to ask for permanent stay residence cards like B or K or L. I think she may not have L card since she did not work. B and K are possible but minimum condition to get them is having 5 years of legal residence already in Belgium.

@ARMaliq If she has not yet completed 5 years, then possibly she will get another A card and i think for 2 years and renewable.
