R80GS'er

just so i can tell everyone before i leave tomorrow for khobar

Maya Maya

i think like half of the ppl in saudi r outta the kingdom for the summer ?

Bernex

Nope, its boring, nothing to do and nowhere to go. Better for men of course but even then not too much fun when it s all men, why not join the British Business association? Its a start and things tend to snowball as you meet other people with other interests. When you are really climing the walls and need a few beers, go over to Bahrain for a weekend, its fantastic and there are some fantastic restaurants. bars and clubs.

I don't know how accurate this is because different places tell you different temperatures and I kinda have a conspiracy theory that those SAAB temperatures are LYING to us by at least 5 degrees BUT it SAYS 42 degrees C.... and mind that its not ONLY hot...its friggin humid as well :) have fun!

thanks but i hear it is really expensive for beers over there?

and

is the British Business Association an online thing or a place to go?

Bernex

No its not expensive compared to the UK depending on where you go of course. The BBa is an association that has regular meetings in various locations including several events at the embassy. Including sports, quiz nights, picnics, dinners etc

Well it is Ramadan.. so people are contemplating.. at least most people.. people stay off the streets during daylight because they are fasting so they usually rest in their homes or just stays in the offices and during night time, only after the Iftar, they usually go about.. but most stay home to celebrate with their families too.. It'll get better after the holy month..
