Hi,Greeting from Amelia from China. I m newbie here too.
question, what jams do dutch love most? Do they love tomato sauce ?

twopenneth

Hi Amelia, as for my experience, the Dutch are not so fond of jams. In the house where I am living, there are only a couple of jams and no one touches them. They mostly put cheese and cold meat in their breads and use jams as toppings for dessert. But they usually use jams made of fruits available here like peach, oranges, apples, kiwi.

With regards to tomato use, they use it mostly on dishes of course especially pasta. Here in Holland, they have all sorts of sauces from Asian countries and usually it is required for the packed dishes you can buy from the supermarkt. They have these boxes with all the ingredients that you need for a dish like veggies, rice, and even sauces and all you have to do is put them in the wok.

We Asians usually use cut and mix our ingredients but I think its time consuming for the Dutch.

Hope this helps. Thank you for visiting my site.

Hello and welcome.  I, too, am new to this site as an expat. Where are you living now?  A few of our good friends are from Holland. One lives in our village, and the others live in a nearby village. We are located northeast of the French/Spanish border in the Catalunya region.

I have been to Holland a few times and really loved it there.

Regards,

Adele

Hi Adele, Im living in the province of Zeeland where the beaches are. SO far I havent gone to one yet, its too cold.

I was in Paris few weeks back and I love it there. And I am planning to discover more of France as well in my next trips there, maybe go camping in the summer and visit the vineyards.

Reminds me to post my trip to Paris in my blog. I love your country, its so beautiful.
