Change profession from labour to computer technician

Hi all.

Actually I am on labour visa in Saudi. Basically I am from SAP ABAP background and i am looking for jobs in Saudi. But before the interviews only, I was being told to change my profession to computer technician or computer programmer. so in order to change my profession to any computer related profession do we need offer letter on my main occupation which sap ABAP and also is Saudi Culture attestation mandatory to change my profession.

Can anyone please guide me step by step to change my profession from labor to computer technician or computer programmer.

All I.T professions are under saudization.. You will be in big problem if you change your profession to Programmer.. Better to stick to labour..

Hi Muneeb. May I know what problems I can face if I change my profession to computer technician.. Actually I am new here so I don't know much.

@sohailsap92 Labor is one of the safest professions nowadays. If I were you, don't change it if you want to stay longer in KSA.

@Sohailsap92... i dont see any issue in changing the profession as long as you have proper IT Degree which is attested by KSA..

But if I don't change then will I get employment opportunities. I mean if I give interviews for computer technician post with labour profession then I don't think HR will select me for interviews.

I am new so I don't much so you are saying that I can get computer technician jobs even with labour visa

Se my visa category is labour and my degree is in B.E(IT) . So there is no match in category and my degree. So will this cause any problem at the time of embassy attestation or will it not create any issue during my attestation. Because of this doubt, I have not applied for attestation yet.

Also if I apply this Saudi embassy attestation from Saudi Arabia then will the process be fast bcoz normally from India it is taking 2 - 3 months.

companies not prefering candidates with labour VISA. It may be becoz they will have issue while taking the transfer. Currently this is wht happening in our company also. So you proceed with changing your profession as per your degree if possible. At least you convert it to good profession to get hired.(Not necessarily IT profession)

But i am not sure whether u need to take the SCE membership first then profession change or VICE VERSA. You need to work on this to find out. I will reply if i get any information..

Yes it usually takes this much time for attestation. You can approach some agencies in india to do this.(Your degree will be verified by third party agency from Saudi embassy side.)This can't be done from here.
