Cross border working with A-card

Hello,

My wife has an A-card in Belgium and recently she has discussed a Netherlands university for teaching. They say that process the request because of the permit type and they have to hire her via a work permit which is a complicated process in this case.

I have found this document from overheid.nl which clearly states that teaching and researching is exempted from the work permit. So, I would like to know if the university has a misunderstanding here or there is really a limitation with this type of permit.

I don't know if I have asked the right forum, but I was wondering if there is an experience with A-card of Belgium that works in Netherlands.

The best would be the university that wants to hire your wife to call the employement agency to check that with them.
