Travel between U.A.E. (Dubai, Abu Dhabi..) and Saudi Arabia

Post new topic

Hi everyone, newcomer here!

I'm interested in traveling to Saudi Arabia for professional endeavors but I might have a few questions that if someone would guide me through could really help.

First I've heard that if you're not Muslim living as a national of a different religion can be a bit problematic. I'd really like to move to Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks, the religious aspect of my life (I'm Christian and I really don't wanna be troublesome when I get there or anywhere else in the Middle East for that matter) is really important for me though.

So I made a little research online and I found out that neighboring U.A.E (Dubai, Abu Dhabi...) might have a few Catholic churches and parishes.

I wanted to ask how easy it is to travel between the two countries. This so I might sometimes attend Mass (at least once a month maybe),  I'm Christian Catholic and it's a bit important to me.

Still trying to find interesting ways to do things so I'm checking with you guys here.

Any insight on planning would be greatly appreciated

I'm in the Tech/Engineering Industry and I have a couple of friends living and working in Dubai right now.

They tend to have appreciative comments of the middle east and say it's quite a welcoming environment in general.

I'd like to go for Saudi Arabia cause I've gotten great returns about the place lately. But I could still move to U.A.E. for some acclimation before checking on Saudi Arabia so I can figerr things out  and maybe travel from one country to another for professional/housing discovery.

And if anyone might know of companies looking for seasoned Consultants/Managers in the Engineering (IT mostly, but other Science/Tech/Engineering fields will suit me quite well as I love challenges) that might work for both countries I'd really be appreciative of any info on those for an introduction or any further details or advice on the working environment .

Would probably make it easier to commute between the two countries If I new a bit more between the two.

Anyway, sorry for the lenghty first post

Thanks.

The commute really depends on which part of Saudi are you going to be posted in.

However, as far as the UAE is concerned, regular commute from the three major cities i.e. Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam is only realistically possible via a flight.

If you are posted in Dammam then you can do a short drive over to Bahrain.  They have churches and religion wise, it's even more relaxed than the UAE.  Even if in Riyadh, it is a 4-5 hour drive.   Jeddah will be a flight.
