At first we have to agree that Saudi is not like US or even any western country, it is the most restrictive Islamic country. But at the same time it is not a hell. In Saudi will will earn more than what you earn in your country. in Saudi all of people will look for you as a superior ( may be it is not the case in your country).
Also you will save more by far than in US.

the most apparent difficulties ( in my oponion) could be the dress; you have to wear what is could Abayia when you will be outside ( long wide black dress over your clothes) but inside any place like your school you can wear anything you need since there is no men at all.

Of course you can go shopping alone without any problem, but also it depends on where you live, what i mean in the main cities : Jeddah, Riyadh and Khobar you will find hundreds of civilized shopping malls.

Of course wine and peer is completely prohibited but as I know you can got it but very expensive.

Living is residential compounds will make your life easier and near to your life in US, you can do or wear anything inside the compounds, even your neighbors are mostly western so have the same mind and traditions.

becuase United States of America buys an oil from us .

but if they stop , this look will change completly.
