visa exemption and ERC

Post new topic

Hello everyone, I'm excited to be moving back to Vietnam this year. Me and my Vietnamese wife are planning to start a small business. I have a lot of questions. but I'll try to keep it short.

I have 5 year visa exemption. I know married people can get work visa exemption. But what about IRC and ERC and if possible will it negatively impact my visa exemption?

I'm also concerned about the IRC. I've read there's no minimum investment.. but that foreigners can not start small businesses.

Any information is greatly appreciated!

@00jw you need to change your exotion to TRC

Expats married to a Vietnamese citizen are eligible for a spousal TRC. Once the TRC is issued then the expat is eligible for a Work Permit exemption. The company they desire to work for would submit paperwork for the exemption.

The 5 year visa exemption does not qualify the expat for working. The 5 year exemption is for visiting for up to 6 months. The key word in the law is visiting and visitors are prohibited from working.
