Villa de la Playa, Blue Bay

We are planning a two month stay in Mauritius and have seen Villa de la Playa, Rue des Aigrettes, Blue Bay, a new listing on a booking site at a good price.

The details say, it is at the beach. The booking site maps shows it back from the beach!

Would welcome any local information on the exact location, if possible.

yes, the map is giving another street with same name but not in blue bay. Also, looks like an apartment in a villa, upper floor and not the whole villa

it is pretty common even for guesthouses and privates that owner/ management do not give correct location on map. In all the adds for same property it has been placed in mahebourg, and not in blue bay

Have you booked yet ? When are you planning to book ? I might go to the beach at Blue Bay soon, will try to find out.

However, at first glance as Alenalen said, indeed Rue des Aigrettes is pinned at Mahebourg instead of Blue Bay on the location they provided on booking but who knows, it might be an error ... as the photos included in the advert have been taken at Blue Bay.

pinned down wrong in Every add, not only on Booking. As a general rule of thumb I would say be wary of booking a place without reviews, verifable details when you have not been to the location before. It may also be difficult to get refund, take a long time. Given you are planning to stay for two months I would consider contacting a couple of places with verified info and reviews and ask them for a discount / special price instead.

Lots of places have availability so it is renter’s market now, for both short /vacational and long term. Hope you will end up in a place to your satisfaction.
