Hi everyone, I've never left brazil ever since I got my RNE card. I'm just wondering, is there a link to verify my RNE card validity online?

Good afternoon.  If you're over sixty years of age and the validity of your card is shown as "indeterminada", then it's still valid. I don't know of any method to verify it online; if you have any doubts, you can always visit or call the nearest office of the Polícia Federal.

MIne was issued in 2017 and also states INDETERMINADA........now I applied for, and was told, it is called a permanent residency visa........so, why would it expire I guess ?

The paper RNE initially put my passport had an expiry date of 10 years to roughly match my passport, but, your plastic RNE card, once issued and marked, should mean you are legally approved and good to go. They told me this at the PF office on the second floor of SDU airport, which is where you pick them up in RIo when they are issued.

Barring any further concern, I could walk 2 blocks to the PF office in my neighbourhood, and they'd tell me the answer, as I assume they can check your passport and immigration status online.

09/03/23 @Gasparzinho 777.  No new VIPERs were issued after the current immigration law went into operation in November 2017, but all the ones then in effect were grandfathered and are still valid.  The same goes for CIEs with the status "indeterminada"; a rule was briefly enacted to put a nine year expiration on them, but it was rescinded, so they're still in effect.
