SWITCH JOB IN OMAN

Post new topic

SIMPLEBOY1

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out today because I find myself in a challenging situation at work, and I could really use some advice from the collective wisdom of this community.

I joined my current job back in February, which means I've been with the company for several months now. However, I've been facing some difficulties that have made me contemplate leaving. One major concern is the low salary I receive, which is making it hard for me to meet my financial goals. Additionally, my company doesn't provide any medical insurance, which has become a real concern for my healthcare expenses.

Another issue I've encountered is the company's policy on time off, which only allows for two days off. This has made it quite challenging for me to strike a balance between my work and personal life.

In light of these challenges, I'm considering the possibility of switching jobs in Oman. However, I'm not entirely sure about the process involved in making such a transition. Can anyone offer guidance on how to navigate the job-switching process in Oman? What are the key steps, documentation, or resources I should be aware of when exploring new employment opportunities in the country?

I know that many of you have had varied experiences and might have encountered similar situations in your careers or have knowledge about the job market in Oman. Your insights on this matter would be incredibly valuable to me, and I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you can offer to help me make an informed decision about my next steps.

Your input and support mean a lot to me, and I thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences.

Warm regards,

Hi,

Though the salary is low that you are struggling to meet your personal needs, but I believe the salary amount has already been discussed and agreed upon before you said yes to join the company. Moreover, under the labour law of Oman there is no minimum wage or salary for the expats rather it is left with the employers and employees to negotiate mutually and the court upholds what is agreed in the employment contract.

Moreover, under the law the employers are not required to provide medical insurance,  though the employers are required by law to cover the medical expenses for their employees. Thus, the above do not form any legal grounds for you to terminate the employment. Unless your current contract is finished or terminated by the employer, you will require the NOC to switch the employment to another company.

Plz let me know if you require any clarification. I would be happy to reply.
