Hey! I have an important question regarding this matter and need advice and support. I will be working in the Netherlands as an EU citizen, and my wife (a Non-EU citizen) will be joining me after 1-2 months, along with our EU citizen toddler.

During this transition, I will be temporarily registered at my company's address and will have a BSN number. My plan is to apply for verification against EU law for my wife online during this time while she is still abroad, in order to save time.

My question is whether I can use her current residence address in Germany when filling out the address section of the application? Is it possible to start the application while she is still abroad?

I am aware that she will need to be physically in the Netherlands once we receive a letter to collect her sticker and complete biometrics. She can easily travel to complete these steps and then move to the Netherlands afterwards.

Do you think this approach would work? Essentially, she won't be registered at any address in the Netherlands when we start the application, but she will relocate in 1-2 months after we find a permanent place. My intention is to save time and have her sticker ready once she moves to the Netherlands.

Thank you all for your input.

Yes, its possible as long as she can be able to travel back into EU easily.

It is assumed she is already in Netherlands at the time you apply for the verification, If this is assumed, then you shouldnt give a German address. Therefore the address you will use is your current address because the letters from the IND will be sent there...

She will need those letters to register at the gemente.

Until you register her officially to another address at the gemente, your company address is just for letters not official address.

It is important that you know without registering at the gemente, she cannot receive her BSN number.

Remember that Verification Against EU Law also means you both should have the same address on paper, so it is necessary that your address at the moment is also her address during the application even though its not official.
