i plan on visiting the country in time for Tet holiday, since government authorities here and elsewhere are no longer give updates such as covid dashboard as before. what is the covid situation there in sg, and hn.? can you get the latest covid booster there? tks

Vietnam stopped posting Covid cases since the end of the last big surge. As for booster shots, the only info I saw was from July 2023 on the Vietnam CDC website. They did mention of going to any local medical clinic or medical center for more info. If in SG, best bet is the Pasteur vaccination clinic.

"Vietnam downgrades Covid to common disease"

"This year the number of infections (cases?) in Vietnam has been only a 12th of 2021 and a 68th of 2022.

The disease fatality rate is 0.02%, equivalent to or lower than the rates for some other common diseases in the last five years such as dengue fever, malaria, diphtheria, and whooping cough."

"In June PM Pham Minh Chinh instructed the Ministry of Health to make preparations to declare an end to the pandemic and that Covid is no longer a dangerous infectious disease."
