Job seeking process

mselci

Hi friends,

I want to ask if freelancing or mini-job is possible during job search?

I believe the min. amount for blue card is 43,800 euro brutto now (Mediengestalter position). Is it correct? and once you hand contact to auslænder behörde, how long it takes blue card to be approved?

How about getting termins from behörde? I heard because of load of work, its not possible to get appointments now, especially in big cities. I will be in Stuttgart in 10 days, after appying auslanderbehörde for the work permit, will it take a lot of time?

I assume this is on a job seeker visa. I don't think any employment is allowed while searching. One's effort should be on doing job interview, which by the way are also best arranged well before coming. Here are conditions listed by the German migration  authorities:

Conditions

You must meet the following pre-conditions in order to obtain an EU Blue Card:

You are a graduate: If you did not acquire your degree in Germany, it must either be recognised or comparable to a German degree. Information on the equivalence and recognition of foreign degrees is available at www.anerkennung-in-deutschland.de.

You have an employment contract or a binding job offer.

You have a minimum annual gross salary of 58,400 Euros. A reduced minimum annual gross salary of 45,552 Euros applies to employment in the occupational fields of mathematics, computer science, the natural sciences, engineering and human medicine (not including dentistry) (as of 2023 - the salary thresholds are readjusted for each calendar year).

The employment must match the qualification.

From what I see in Stuttgart is that civil service positons are severly understaffed and appointments take a long time. They have even closed or reduced hours at some offices due to a lack of qualified workers. This is a huge effect of Covid as many people dropped out of such jobs or went into retirement. One can only contact the offices and ask when one can get an appointment; nobody here can possibly give a more certain answer.

While on a job seeker visa, the only work allowed is probational work required by potential employers to secure a job. Work for the purpose of earning money is not allowed.

The Ausländerbehörde in Stuttgart is severly overworked and understaffed. It currently takes up to three months to get an appointment - so start early!

My study is recognized. I will be there from 6th November with a job seeker visa. I have on-going interviews to obtain a Job contract, as I saw in info pages, from November the min. salary for Blue Card is 43,800 brutto.

@beppiIf I am not wrong, this is the right e-mail to get an appointment:auslaenderrecht.arbeit.A‐K@stuttgart.deIs the passport number only enough to get it? or i should wait first 6th of November which is my entrance to Germany?

This is incorrect as the amounts change every year. This is exactly why I posted a link to the official government site that shows this. Why not read it! The current amount is 58,400 euros - except for jobs in mathamatics, engineering, natural sciences and medicine for which it is 45,552 euros.
