Istiqdam Riyadh / online degree attestation

I had my Istiqdam appointment today, all my documents were in order to bring my wife over on family residency visa, however I did not have my degree stamped from Saudi Embassy and Cultural Attache in London as per requirement for employment visa. I was turned away as my certificate was not stamped by the embassy.


This is because my degree was distanced learning (online.) Saudi embassy does not attest online degrees. I do not have any other university issued qualification.


When applying for the employment visa when I was in the UK, we relied on an exemption letter from my employer (as per advice from Visa agent) stating they are happy with my experience. My visa was issued on this basis, and I have been working in Saudi for a few months now with Iqama and no issues.


I was researching online, and it appears the Saudi Embassy in London is no longer stamps degrees at all as Saudi Arabia is now party to the Hague Convention.


Is there any way around this to get the yellow slip from Istiqdam as I do not want to have to rely on a visit visa.

@usamahbackup you will not get stamped at saudi embassy anywhere now. Instead the option you have to apostile your degree certificate. This is sufficient. Morever, you must have Saudi cultural in your certificate along with apostile. Then you will yellow slip without any issue.

@mdafzalhussain79 salaam. if this is the case then why is the requirement at Istiqdam to still have the certificate stamped from Saudi embassay. the man there today was adamant of this

@usamahbackup walaikum assalam, I'm wonder with your reply how come they ask this. Do you have apostile  in ur certificate?

@mdafzalhussain79 i dont know. I didnt rely on my certificate to come here as this is what the visa agent advised me during my visa processing application.
