The majority of reports from members of having to show their current, still valid, eVisas upon departure from Vietnam have been when exiting through a land border (like Moc Bai).

Land borders are manned by the military, which is (I'm told) on a different computer system/network than the immigration dept officers who man the int'l airports.

Immigration's system allows the officer to view the details of your current eVisa, your prior eVisa history, and your completed eVisa application(s). The military apparently do not have as complete an access to your information which might explain their asking to view a current eVisa.

Will you have a problem? I doubt it very much, but if so I'd be willing to bet that no more than 100K would be needed to "fix" it. ;)

edit: take a moment to review the exit date which had been stamped in your passport, just in case. The last thing you need is to be hit with an over-stay penalty, and then forced to depart Vietnam via air

I'm amazed that some of the most intelligent people here are not saving their e-visas as PDF files.

I'd guess that most people who wanted to print out a copy might at least download a PDF copy in order to have something to email to a copy/printing shop.

So, on the off chance that someone did do that, a copy of the e-visa would probably be found in the "sent" folder of your email service/program.

I found E-Visa  confirmation number, did  D/L it again and printed it out. Here is fresh Rapport from the Moc Bai. Business as usual, apart that officer just checked my passport, stamped and handed it back to me, not asking for visa printout which is pretty unusual.  While exiting the border crossing the officer who is checking things outside of the building asked me for blue card (BC)  of my motorbike-  which I had it :P He just glanced at it and let me go. NB that I was never asked before for BC before -  while crossing through Moc Bai  and Ha Tien, so YMMV depending on officer on duty.

Cover all angles cos as from a previous post, I for one have been asked (only once mind) to show a print off of my e visa at Tan Son Nhat immigration when leaving the country & he was having none of a copy on my phone, it had to be a paper copy!
