I’m Lennart, currently living just outside Chicago. My wife and I are 75, retired from work in the computer and retail worlds. She has a small embroidery business, while I’m a writer and photographer. We’re planning to visit Sweden in early spring, with a likely move as soon as possible after that. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of questions.

Hi,  I’m Catherine,  currently living in Atlanta,  Georgia.  My husband is Swedish and we have two young children aged  8 and 10.  we  plan  on moving to Höllviken Sweden outside of Malmö in July of 2024.

I am the only one in the family who does not speak Swedish.  I have a lot of questions and wold love to have an expat community nearby!

Hello everyone! My name is Carol Thomas and I am new to the forum. I have always loved the idea of living in Sweden. My great grandmother, Gertrude Anderson, and her twin sister, moved to the United States in the late 1800's, so yes, I am part Swedish, so maybe that is why I've always been drawn to the country.

I don't have a definite time frame for making the move, so I am here just to learn as much as possible and gather information.

I will probably need at least part time employment while there, and I have a background in teaching, so any information would be helpful. Thank you!

hello am njengong Samuel from Cameroon I love to work and stay in Sweden I have a wife with a son I study urban planning and survey in school but I can do agriculture very well most expecaily pig farming.

This is 26.2. I'm interested in retiring in Sweden. I'm trying to obtain a Swedish tax number but I was rejected the first time when I received a letter from the Swedish tax office at home requesting more information but unfortunately I was abroad at the time and missed that letter and was not able to get the information in by a certain date so I will try again and does anyone have any information on how to efficiently obtain this Swedish tax number which is a personal number apparently?

I hold a French passport as well as British and Canadian. I would be coming to Sweden on a French passport because it is in the European Union. I originally thought that coming to Sweden as a French citizen would be relatively easy but it does not seem that easy.

I'm currently resident in the United Kingdom for the past two years but want to get out of this country, which I think is far from ideal for reasons that I don't have time to get into at this time.

We are beginning the process of investigating moving to Sweden (probably near Umeå) to continue our retirement there.  We have good friends there.  We've visited Sweden probably 7 times now and have traveled the country from top to bottom.  We both feel comfortable there but to me it's a place where I feel like I'm at home. 

I speak Swedish at the B2 level and have Swedish ancestry.

We're trying to wrap our heads around the formidable task ahead of us - especially learning all of the requirements and the financial impacts, and dealing with the Swedish immigration agency.

I'm looking forward to learning all I can on this forum.

I had a permanent residence for 5 years (2013_2018) in Sweden, but I had problems and illnesses when I returned to Algeria, and also because of the corona I missed it and I would like a shot hands for renewing .Is there any help? thank you.
