Au Pair/Housing

Post new topic

Hi expats! I am moving to Mauritius at the end of January 2023 with a scholarship from the United States. I will be teaching English for about nine hours a week. I am still looking for housing. I was interested in inquiring about an au pair situation on the island. I would be happy to tutor, watch children, and do household tasks in exchange for housing. I would also be willing to pay for rent in a small guest home, etc.. I will be in Mauritius for 9 months teaching English. I have plenty of work with children. Let me know if you have any leads!

Hi welcome to Mauritius.

Happy New Year too.

I suggest you have your own studio or apartment just in case something happens with the au pair. For your own privacy, even renting a room can be helpful, as you may not adjust to the local culture at the beginning.

Also if you need to work in town, better stay in town with all facilities being central and cheaper too, otherwise stay at the beach but it will be more expensive and you will need to cater for a higher budget.

I can refer some people currently renting. Drop me a message in inbox.

All the best,

David
