Post new topic

Sophiedoco

Hi,

I am french, I'm 34. I visited USA last year and someone offered me a job in a restaurant/music venue. However I can't find the right visa type for my situation. I already tried to apply with a H2B but we can't proove why they would hire me and not an american citizen. I'm wondering about J1 but I fear the entreprise won't be eligible. Does anyone know where I can ask some help/advice? Thank you

Aside from the H-2B and J-1 visas, there may be other visa categories that could potentially be suitable for your employment opportunity, such as the H-1B visa for specialty occupations or the O-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement in their field. Consulting with an immigration lawyer can help you explore all available options. If considering the J-1 visa, research the eligibility requirements for both the employer and the prospective employee. Some J-1 categories, such as the Trainee and Intern categories, may have specific criteria that must be met by both parties.
