Visiting Bali for US passport holders is very easy. One tourist visa and a tiny arrivals tax, and you have 30 days to play with.

You can also take a moment to visit nicer areas of this beautiful country that are far cheaper to live in.

I don't even know where to start looking forward to meeting new people

The 30 day visa on arrival can also be extended for 30 days, if you go one week before expiring to local imigrasi office.

But @Fred is right, there are much better places, the Bali, even that's the most advertised

It's been a while so I may be wrong, but I gather there are two types of 30 day visas. One is a pure single entry, but the second is renewable.

My above should be checked.

@Fred I'm talking about the Visa on arrival, which is single entry.

They have VoA counters in CGK T3 (Bali I don't know), you pay 500.000 IDR (~30USD), go to the next counter get your VoA, and go to imigration. That's it.

At CGK T2 you just go to immigration, and get your VoA after paying 500.000 IDR.

Than after 20+ days you go to your nearest imigrasi office and request for extention, pay 500.000 IDR in the next convenient store. after 3 - 5 days you pick-upyour passport again.
