Hey everyone!

I'm an Aussie guy who has moved close to Haugesund with my Norwegian partner.

Looking to meet other expats to hangout with and maybe get a beer!

Hello,

How are you finding Haugesund? I used to live there for 4 years, before moving to Oslo.

David its good but we have struggled with not speaking Norwegian. Also not knowing any English people has proved hard!

Tusen Takk :-)

Not speaking Norwegian does cause problems. The dialect in Haugesund also takes some getting used to, since it is quite different from what you might be taught in a Norwegian class. Having said that, I think the Haugesund dialect is easier for a native English speaker to speak than the dialect in the east. Have you started Norwegian classes yet? I went to evening classes at Breidablikk. It's a good way to learn and to meet other foreigners.
