Hello everybody,

I am holding a single work permit, and my contract with my current company will expire by May 5th,

I have found another job in Belgium, and the new contract will start just at May 4th.  New work permit application has been submitted since April 1st by new company, but the process could be very long.

If my current ID card expire, but the new work permit has not been approved, how should I do to keep my residency in Belgium not being considered as interruption?

Thanks!

Hi

From my own experience last year you need to go to city hall they will give you waiting paper i think its annex 46 to show that your papers are on the waiting so long as you have a job they have already applied for you dont so much also give the new employer some pressure to push for you in Brussels did the same this year got fired from work got New one immediately  they applied for new permit i only stayed home for one month and started working when my work permit was approved

success

If your residence card is expiring and a new work permit application is underway, you can communicate it with your commune and they will give you annex 19 which will be valid till your new RP is approved.
