Awaiting DUF Number: Over 3 Weeks Post-Application Submission

Hello everyone, I'm seeking some advice regarding my application for a skilled worker visa. I submitted my application at the Danish Embassy's VFS center in Singapore on March 25, 2024. It's been almost three weeks since then, and I still haven't received my DUF number. After contacting the Danish Embassy, I was told that my application was forwarded to the UDI on March 26th, at 11:01AM and 11:02AM. However, when I inquired with the UDI about the status of my application, they mentioned that a case for my application hasn't been created yet, likely because it hasn't been processed by the UDI agent assigned to it.

Is it common for the DUF number to be issued after the 3rd or 4th week? Waiting this long for my application to be entered into their system as a new case seems unusually prolonged.

That is normal. In the end you need to check the website which tells you about the waiting time for your case. Usually when you submit the documents to a vfs/embassy, it is forwarded afterwards to the UDI in Norway. After that, the UDI assign a duf number to your case and put it in a waiting queue and keeps sending you monthly notification email. The email says whether your application is waiting in the queue. It is an automated email. Once an officer receives you application document for processing he will process it and you will receive a grant, rejection, or an inquiry for extra documents.

That's the thing. They already received my application last March 26th but did not assign a DUF number yet (so, I'm not even in the waiting queue).

I read online that it usually takes within one week for the DUF number be given thru email, that's why it bothers me that it is already 3 weeks and I still have not received it yet.

@Ahmed Abdul-Gawad Thank you for the information. How long will it take to get VISA approval after the creation of DUF number?
