Hi Guys

My husband and I are South African citizens and are currently staying in Antwerp Belgium on a short stay visa for business purposes (Visa C). During our stay, my husband has signed a Freelance Contract Agreement with a Belgian company. He now needs to apply for his professional card (1st time application).

Being non Belgium and non EU citizens, the normal process for us to apply for his professional card, is through the Belgium Embassy in South Africa. However, we are now in Belgium until mid June and we would like to apply as soon as possible due to the long processing time.

I have read that it is possible to apply for his professional card online through the Belgium Flanders WSE counter. This requires a Declaration of Arrival / Appendix 3 (showing legal residence) and a digital key / token.

Has anyone else applied for their Professional Card (1st time application) while on a short stay visa in Belgium?

Any advice or assistance regarding this, will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and kind regards

Jolene
