Hi !!!
I need some help and answers, and hope that some of you will be able to do so ! I m french and will have to pay taxes from january 2012, something like $800 per month ! I thought taxes were high in France.... !
I'm married to a non american citizen (my spouse is German) and we got married in the Us, under the american law, so our marriage is recognized here.
Do you think that it s possible for me to pay less taxes given the fact that I m married but my husband is unemployed??

Thank you for your help !!!!

Hello cruellaevil!

I would say that a join filing in Jan 2012 with an unemployed spouse through 2011 should considerably reduce your taxable income. If you qualify for some additional deductions this taxable income can be further reduced.

But the percentage of reduction depend on your particular situation ... You might want to consider the services of a specialist (payoff can be interesting).

You can PM me if you like to go into more detail regarding your particular situation.

Cheers,

septicus

Hu,

You should follow your taxes and it is really possible to take them back. I had the situation like that before and it was done without problem.

You can look for the agencies do this for you!!
