1st visa appointment question

Hi

I'm really sorry if this has been covered but thought I'd ask.

We are planning to book our appointment for the UK Portuguese embassy for our D7 but would ideally like to move in Jan 2025 due to some family things in Dec 2024, can you ask/request for the start date for the 120 days or is it just from when the application is processed.

We have 90% of the items required but didn't want to forge ahead just yet because of our preffered move date.

Many thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

This is a few years old, but this timeline for the D7 visa may help.

Normally, after applying at the Portuguese consulate, it takes up to 60 days for you to get an answer about your visa.

There's also some support here in your other post:

If you're 90% ready to apply, you might have a look at the application and see if it includes a start date for the "visit" authorized by the VISA.
