Loss of job with L card and impact on citizenship application

Ironically, I have received my L card and termination letter from my employment during the same week and with 4 moths of notice period. How does it impact my situation to become a citizen as I am planning to apply for citizenship in 2 weeks time once the fresh birth certificate is obtained. Should I apply with '5 year continuous work' or 'with social integration' option?

Thanks in advance

@curiousindian I think it's better you check with your commune immediately regarding what's obtainable in your context. I hope you find a better job soon. All the best.

@curiousindian most lifely you will be fine to apply for belgian citizenship. your choice of option depends on which requirements for citizenship you have met.

@brla15 I have already receivd L card with completion of 5 years of employment. But is this 5 year employment counted uptil the date citizenship application being entertained? that is I am confused about. I also have integration certificate but want to make a right choice to avoid the application rejection.

be safe, apply through the integration route. You need 468 days in the last 5 years which you fulfil, irrespective of your current job situation.

you might get through the full 5 year route but i wont risk it if i were you.

@curiousindian i dont understand your worries.

First, you prove your social integration. you mentioned you have integration course certificate - that is enough. Additionally, you worked for the last 5 years continuously, well congratulations because that is also one of the proof.

Second, you need to prove economic integration. you only need 468 working days for the last 5 years to prove that this clause. you surpassed this requirement.

So go ahead with your application with peace of mind.

@saad.s thanks bro

@brla15 The confusion was about which preferred option to choose in the application. Just to avoid rejection,
