Yellow slip v pink slip

Post new topic

janetformby

I recently applied for my temporary residency as I am a UK passport holder, retired and have owned a property in Cyprus for nearly 2 years which we purchased for significantly under €350k.  I have not lived in Cyprus prior to Brexit.  I have been issued with a yellow slip for my temp residency but was expecting a pink slip  does it make any difference or should I go back to the immigration office.  Are there any advantages to the yellow slip.  I do have an S1 certificate but have not registered with GESY yet as find the website very difficult.

@janetformby Answwers I dont know-- pink slip-- have lived here for 8 yrs and still have only the yellow slip and so far quite content with it. One day will get my plastic card. am talking with my friend the Mayor and he said would arrange it. GESY-- is really important. Am regisitered with GESY from inception. My understanding is that you have to find a Doctor which has a n opening for a patient and then register (maybe wrong). I live in the Famagusta area where almost everything is done word of mouth.  This is all I can say.

Okay the slips used to be pink in colour but now are printed on yellow paper but still referred to as pink slips by some even though it has been yellow for several years, suggest you find a GESY doctor and get him to do the registration for you, my understanding is that they get 90 euro per year per patient registered, so are quite keen to fill their books, so if they get the full 2,500 patients allowed is a tidy sum

Graham, if you can find a GESY Doctor, then good luck. THERE ARE NONE ABOUT.

In Limassol it does seem to be a problem, I am already registered with one and another one who does my company medicals asked me to transfer, by all accounts he can do for free if I register with him

If yoiu are registered with a GESY doctor what then is the "problem". Ask him for the registration number-- then go on line with the GESY app and the rest is done automatically. If in doubt go to the surgery and ask the receptionist, she should be able to guide you.

I did use the GESY web site but they lost my documents! I then visited the Citizen office in Paphos and they completed everything. The white medical card arrive after 4 weeks and i took it to the local doctor in Chloraka 8 weeks ago and they have still not recvd the papers from Nicosia so just waiting :-/  I am still using the private cover which works well here.
