Hello, my Vietnamese wife and I have just had a perfectly amicable divorce but I am finding it difficult to get advice re the following. I am here on a TT visa (my TRC has expired) which runs out in September. My wife is keen for me to cancel the visa to make sure my status is legally recognised, is there anyway that I can cancel it but spay in-country legally until September when it expires

. Also I bought and paid for an apartment which my wife has no interest in but I have yet to have the pink/red book if this makes any difference. Thanks.

Unfortunately there's no way for you to remain in the country after your visa sponsorship is officially withdrawn by your wife.

At that time you will be issued a mandatory exit visa, with only a few days to get your affairs in order.

You should be free to reenter Vietnam immediately with your UK 45 day visa exemption, as long as you are not holding a British National Overseas (BNO) passport.

Or you can arrange to return on a 90 day tourist visa.

The status of your apartment shouldn't change, but ownership doesn't give you any consideration under visa laws.

It's legal for you to continue to own it, but I'd be looking at hiring a real estate attorney to press forward with your documents of ownership.

Is it possible that your ex-wife could have intercepted the document when it was (possibly) already sent to you?

Good luck!
