I would not concern yourself too much given that Sweden has one of the highest tax rates in the OECD.

Im sure your country will have a bilateral taxation treaty with the Philippines.

Interesting spelling of ’Europeen’ Reminds me of a fellow ex Swedish contributor to this Forum. At least your post is succinct sans ’ le waffle’

Don't worry the waffle and unrelated stories are still told on another site, he is harmless and is sharing. I am not sure if he was booted from this site or some of us members drove him away, who cares.

Cheers, Steve.

Certainly your superior knowledge does not include Spelling.

Since you stopped sharing your superior  knowledge, what doe you have to share?

Bob don't get the wheels turning again, walk away, no need to feed an extinguished fire.

In saying that it has been nice and quiet here unlike another site that he trolls, I think he came back here as members on the other site were fed up and the moderators shut his post down, tail between the legs.

Just being honest.

Cheers, Steve.

Hi, as I will be in situation to get a government & company pension in 3.5 years, I made some investigations now.

First of all you need to meet this requirements:

  • you must be a permanent resident of the Philippines who stays here more than half a year each year
  • your home country must have a double taxation treaty with the Philippines (you can find it on the BIR website)
  • you must file an application for tax residency (BIR Form 902)

If you meet this requirements you can get the pension tax free from your home country.

Now the pension needs to be taxed in the Philippines. The tax rates climb with the pension you get.

PHP 250,000 and below

None (0%)

Above PHP 250,000 to PHP 400,000

15% of the excess over PHP 250,000

Above PHP 400,000 to PHP 800,000

PHP 22,500 + 20% of the excess

over PHP 400,000

Above PHP 800,000 to PHP 2,000,000

PHP 102,500 +25% of the excess

over PHP 800,000

Above PHP 2,000,000 to PHP 8,000,000

PHP 402,500 +30% of the excess

over PHP 2,000,000

Above PHP 8,000,000

PHP 2,202,500 +35% of excess

over PHP 8,000,000

This should be less than in most European countries.

So it makes sense to pay the taxes in the Philippines.

Unfortunately in my case, from uk, I would be about £1000 worse off. So it pays to do the sums. Was supprised.

His intellectual superiority as evidenced by his not wasting time spelling words correctly.
