my question is , i have my retirement moneies direct deposited in my bank. what is the easist way to utilize rio negro banks with my bank or do i need to open a columbian bank account

nico peligro

@bobbybases not necessary to open a bank account in ColOmbia.

Get.a Charles Schwab or Capitol One account.in US and use.your card to.take money out of Colombian bank ATM such as Davivienda  ( example) which give Visa or MasterCard exchange rates or very close. Charles Schwab and Cap One apparently compensate you for any fees ( 15 mil per withdrawal in  Daviviendas case)

A plethora of posts on this and other expat sites. Do a subject search.

@nico peligro i also I’m looking to open an account so I did look up the subject and there is a plethora of information and I understand why you recommend Charles Schwab seems to be the best but I’m gonna keep looking because I have about a year before I come over

Where is the best place for my husband and I to meet expats!

Real basic question

183 days without a visa but you have to do a renewal in your passport stamp after 90  days online , or if you have trouble, at the local migraciones office.

You can do it online but sometimes there is trouble and have to go.to migracions office.

Do renewal.process and payment 10 days before due date.

And that means NO bank account because it is extremely difficult now a days for a bank branch to give you an account wthout a cedula.

Thank you sir
