Transferring Title of Car, agent assistance

Hi All,

We’ve lived in Iska Verde for 2 years. We were driving 2 cars that are in my father’s name. We are back in the US now because my father is very sick and needs help.

Our cars are in Puerto Rico and we need to get them shipped back to the States. The registrations of both cars are expired and the titles of both cars are in my father’s name, who I mentioned is very sick and cannot travel.

Both cars are paid off. There is no lien.

Should we try to get the PR title changed to my name first (difficult as my dad will need to sign documents in PR, he’s unable to travel and the cars are in Puerto Rico) or is there a Power of Attorney we could use in Puerto Rico or any other idea that would work? 

Finally, Is there a reliable agent in PR we can engage from here who could take care of this entire process in PR for us? I see some companies online who market they do it but don’t want to fall for scammers, of which there are aplenty.
