New NHR Questions

Post new topic

Wcfalk

I am currently considering moving to Portugal. I work offshore on a 28 and 28 rotation so would automatically be out of country 181 days minimum. This with the additional fact I would be spending one month in the U.S. insures I would not be in Portugal for 183 days. My question is I would like to invest in Portugal most likely in Real Estate and possibly a business but am wary of an almost 50% tax bracket so I am wondering if the new NHR would help balance that? I also have no problem paying a tax firm if the decision to move is made I am just trying to get enough information to choose a direction.

Thank in advance!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I used to work offshore - as you can own property and be here under the rules of approx 30 days here 30 days away     30 days here 30 days away etc.      and be classed as a tourist.  It's possible to try the idea and be here to talk to tax and legal people until you want to make a decision of becoming a resident or not.
