Civil Parternship for Accompanying Family Member Visa

Hello!

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but I'm quite stressed and am trying as many places as possible.

I am currently living in Denmark on a work visa, and my girlfriend and I (both from the UK, both 23) are looking into how to get her an accompanying family member visa.

We don't meet the requirements for cohabting partners as we've only lived together for 1 year. But we have been in a relationship for 8 years and can prove it with photos, messages and family/friends if needs be.

We are now thinking of getting a civil partnership to help with the visa process, but I'm worried it might not look legit or may seem as a marriage of convenience if we do that, which may end up with the application getting rejected, especially because its a lot of money.

Any advice on either this situation or who to ask about it?

Thanks

Hey @Nellie Berg!

I've contacted them before and have heard different things from them, they said it should be fine, but then one time they mentioned showing proof that we had been planning this for a while.

From what they said it should be fine, just a bit anxious if it gets rejected 😅

I understand, but you cannot do other than apply. It's up to SIRI to assess your documentation, and yes, in the end it will be up to the single case manager to decide whether it is good enough.

Contact them yet another time, ask if photos, messages and statements from friends will help as you have been in a relationship for years, but only have lived together for one and a half year.

I cannot see any problem in getting your partnership registered. In this case, it might help you, but again, ask SIRI if it will help the proceedings.

Thanks a lot, yeah you're completely right. I may contact Siri again.
