IT Feelancing by registering partnership firm (Gbr)

Hani Go

Hello,

I live in Berlin. I want to ask a question regarding my free lancing situation. I am full time employed and I want to contribute to free lancing project in my free time with my friend who is full time freelancer. I want to know whether registering a partnership firm which is called Gbr in germany is a good idea?  Would anyone know if freelancing clients (in the field of IT/Software Engineering) would agree to have Gbr name and tax id on thier contract and invoices?

I know as a permanent employee, I have to respect working hours act 48 hours a week.

Regards

Hani

You also have to ask your (full time) employer for permission to pursue a side job - freelance or not.

As for which legal construct (GbR) to choose, you better ask an accountant or lawyer!

And visa-wise: If you are on a normal work visa, freelancing might not be allowed anyway.

@beppi thanks. I tried to reach out to some tax advisors in berlin but they are very busy and they dont take new clients. Do you know any tax consultant for freelancing?

@Hani Go This is probably not because they are busy (which is just a convenient excuse), but because your topics are complicated (and together with English communication impossible to manage for many). You are simply not the target group for most tax advisers!

You could try company registration service providers instead (at a higher fee).
