Hello everyone,

Staying connected while living in Sweden remains a priority for expats, especially when choosing a mobile operator or to understand the local specificities of mobile plans.

Here some elements to consider:

How to choose your mobile operator in Sweden?

What documents are required to subscribe to a mobile plan in Sweden?

What criteria should you consider when choosing a plan matching your needs?

Are e-sim cards a suitable option for expats? What are the conditions?

What are your local tips for saving money on your mobile plan, especially for international calls (apps, operators, etc.) or mobile data?

Feel free to share your experiences and advice to choose your mobile plan as an expat in Sweden.

Thank you for your contribution.

The person I am assisting in moving to Sweden hasn't yet moved to Sweden, but he and I have looked at mobile plans and coverage in preparation to the move.

We looked at the nperf and OpenSignal coverage maps to drill down into which networks had coverage in the area that he is moving to (it is outside a major city and relatively sparsely populated), and then compared the various packages of the networks covering that area and their flanker brands (such as Hallon and fello, etc).

We have thus narrowed down the plans that we would want to use and will look into them in more detail when he actually travels to Sweden.
