question about job seeker visa

Hi everyone,

I have just received my passport back with my visa stamped for my job seeker visa. I applied for this back in June after a long fight to get an appointment. I moved to Portugal at the end of July as I could come on a Schengen Visa whilst I waited and I opted to mail my passport in and out to get it stamped.

They seem to have taken it from when they stamped it so I have 120 days from the 18th August. With my passport they also enclosed a letter saying that I have an appointment at the SEF for the end of October. I was just wondering what this appointment is actually for? I can't seem to find much info on it, do I need to have a job offer by then, what is the purpose of the appointment?

Any help gladly appreciated!
