Foreign Newspapers

Post new topic

Rethes

Hi, I'd be really grateful if anyone could share information on where to get foreign newspapers in Malaysia (physical copies), or how to purchase a subscription? They must be available as I have seen them in private clubs/hotels? I'm looking for UK newspapers, the Guardian/Observer or Times/Sunday Times.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Fred

Newspapers are old hat now so your choices are getting more and more difficult to find outside the UK.

Now add any papers you find will be an absolute minimum of a day or two old.

Throw in they are all available on the internet and that about kills your chances of finding any.

However, there's always an exception to any rule, so you might drop lucky.

@Fred

Thank you for replying.

Yes- we could subscribe online but nothing beats having the actual paper to hold, with the usual Sunday inserts and sections that you read at different times throughout the day...

Sorry, being very old fashioned here! It's probably going to cost a fortune (if I can even find it!)

I used to find UK newspapers in Kuala Lumpur but they were always at least 2 or 3 days old, and it was probably 15 - 20 years ago. I guess if the airlines are still providing newspapers on long haul flights then you can probably still find them in certain places, but I no recollection of where I bought them.

These days my early morning routine is to read Sky News,d Fox News and The Guardian online and not much else. I've tried reading others but most of it is garbage, unimportant or repetitive.

That's an interesting set to read.

I find reading the left wing crap in the Guardian has to be offset by some right wing crap in whatever isn't the Daily Fail.

Fox works, but that tends to focus on the US rather than the UK.

When I'm not as busy as I am at the moment, I read a lot of papers.

I prefer to do so on my Samsung Tab A9 with the screen set for reading text.

It's not so big as to be a pain, but not so small as to make reading hard work.

You can use Google Chrome, but try Brave
