Hi am living in Bahrain with my family. Me and my husband is on company visa. our son was on visit visa. His visa got expired in May 2024. Now my husband's company agreed to give family visa. So we can attach our son in husband's visa. Can anyone please tell me how much fine we need to pay for the overstay. For issuing new visa does My son need to exit from Bahrain or not? Appreciate ur response . Thank you

From the last 6 months, any type of visit visa cannot be converted to any kind of residence - Work or Dependent. Check with the agent who has given the Visit visa and get an extension through the same agent or if you applied directly through evisa portal, Get an extension through any agent, and your son has to exit the country and the sponsor has to apply for the dependent visa when the kid is out of the country. Once the Dependent visa is approved, your kid can arrive in the country.

Remaining on an expired visa renders one's status illegal; it is advisable to visit the NPRA to clear any fines. It is beneficial if your company has a competent Public Relations Officer who can facilitate the acquisition of a family visa. Typically, in such situations, the individual must leave the country, and obtaining a visa after overstaying can be challenging.
