I heard there is an age limit for applying for health coverage in the DR. Can anyone comment if it's 65?

There is no public health coverage!

Most insurance companies cut off applications at age 65. There is only one  company after that age

What is that company?

The question perhaps should read ," Do you have to apply for private health coverage before the age of 65?"

And the answer is that it is much more difficult after that age to get coverage.

SENASA migth be the only option, but I have heard others say their might be a another company that is private that will do it. Keep in mind it will probably exclude pre-exitising conditions and require a medcial exam before the contract is made.

Requirements

Complete the membership form online.

Copy of the Ceduala ID (adults).

Copy of the birth certificate (minors).

Copy of the marriage certificate or the free union certificate.

Make prior payment according to the selected period (Quarterly, semi-annual or annual).

Applicants from the age of 55 must undergo a medical check-up.

AND the medical checkup  is paid by the applicant with  no guarantee of coverage!

Senasa is the only option I am aware of.  Coverage is not great!
