Travel to home and return

jshinysharon14

I am an Indian student studying in Italy on 2 years Masters programme. They gave me one year residence permit and told me to renew for the 2nd year. So I applied and went for interview. They gave me Ricevuta. And my permit may come within two months. Can I leave to India for vacation and return to Italy again for my higher studies

Hi @jshinysharon14

you can travel to/from India with Ricevuta but you cannot stop in any Schengen country. Your flight should be a direct flight to/from India or with a stopover NOT in a Schengen country.

Have a nice trip!

It’s ok if you layover, you can explain.. as long as you don’t leave the designated area of the airport.. you can’t layover in Paris for example and go visit the city because you have to wait 6 hours.. you stay 6 hours in the airport.. in that area.. crazy eh? That’s why a direct flight is always the best choice.
